    Iodin Series

Iohexol, Ioversol, Iodixanol, Iopamidol are FCAD’s early developed products which are currently known as contrast agents around the world. Today, FCAD is still the main material supplier of these products in Europe.
Iodin series are primarily used in the following:
Angiography throughout the cardiovascular system, including cerebral and peripheral arteriography, coronary arteriography and ventriculography, pediatric angiocardiography, selective visceral arteriography and aortography, peripheral venography (phlebography)
Adult and pediatric intravenous excretory urography and intravenous adult and pediatric contrast enhancement of computed tomographic (CECT) head and body imaging

    Cyclen & Derivatives

Cyclen, DOTA, Gadoteric acid and Gadoterate meglumine are another early series of contrast agents developed by FCAD. Now they are approved and used in a number of countries worldwide, to assist imaging of blood vessels and of inflamed or diseased tissue where the blood vessels become ‘leaky’. It is often used when viewing intracranial lesions with abnormal vascularity or abnormalities in the blood–brain barrier. Its paramagnetic property reduces the T1 relaxation time (and to some extent the T2 and T2* relaxation times) in NMR, which is the source of its clinical utility.

    Sodium Salt Series

Ferene Disodium Salt and Ferrozine Monosodium Salt are FCAD’s current featured products which were developed for some clients originally but now are sold widely through FCAD’s subsidiaries and trading partners. These two products are used for the spectrophotometric determination of Fe by diagnostic companies and FCAD has become the largest actual manufacturer globally.

    2. Ethylferrocene CAS 1273-89-8
    3. 1-Ferrocenylethanol CAS 1277-49-2
All three ferrocenes are useful addictives to be added to rocket propellant, to promote the burning rate of it. But they are more used in pharmaceuticals.
” Ferrocenyl derivative exhibits physiological activity of anti-malarial, anti-tumor, bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, treatment of anemia, inhibition of enzymatic activity and so on by virtue of its unique structure and diverse properties, Good stability, low toxicity; Aromatic, easy for substitution reaction and modification; Hydrophobic, attacking a variety of enzymes in cells, DNA, RNA by going through cell membrane; Strong selectivity by its thickness of the sandwich structure, which can stop it close to the activity site of enzymes; Redox reversibility, which enable it to involve in metabolism by enzymes. So nowadays, ferrocenyl derivative has wide applications to biological and medical fields such as ferrocene-modified beta-lactam.”
    4. Triphenylbismuth CAS 603-33-8
    5. Tris(4-ethoxyphenyl)bismuthine CAS 90591-48-3
The two phenylbismuths above are added to the fuel of rocket as cruing agent.

Farmers shoulder a lot of responsibility. They manage their businesses in a complex, uncertain environment. And what they produce is weightier than widgets. We all rely on their success: to feed us, clothe us and keep farmland healthy for the next generation.
It’s a long way from our chemistry labs to a farm, but the work that is done in those labs helps farmers to solve real problems, season after season. The basic question for farming professionals is: how can I maximize my yields, while ensuring that I produce in a sustainable way? Our crop protection products play an important role.
A lot of factors can decimate yields: unfavourable weather, insects, imported weeds and resistance to an important fungicide. When we think about a new product or service, we try to keep all of this in mind. Talking with our field agronomists about day-to-day farm management challenges helps our scientists develop better products. How, for example, can FCAD technology originally developed for builders or diaper manufacturers help farmers perform even better?
On this Internet site, we invite you – agriculture professionals and anyone else interested in the role of crop protection in farming – to discover how we see our contribution. We also invite you to explore all of the other ways that pesticides help us live better lives: in urban pest control, in the fight against malaria and other insect-borne diseases, in forestland management…

Balance: A Clearer View of Agricultural Sustainability

    Innovation Optimizes Agricultural Production

R&D Strategy: The Key to Innovation

Developing new products is time-consuming and expensive. That’s because every new product has to both safely and effectively control weeds, insects or diseases.
It can take quite a long time to turn an interesting molecule into a product that farmers can use. What’s more, there are no guarantees. A potential product can fail at any point along the way. But this is our business. We provide farmers with a steady stream of the latest and most effective tools to help them maximize yields on limited farmland. Over time, nature can outwit even our smartest products. That’s why we have to spend so much time and energy looking for new scientific discoveries. Our track record in bringing new tools to the market speaks for itself.
We’re constantly looking for new active ingredients that can control crop pests in unique ways. This comprehensive approach to research allows us to offer growers a complete toolkit of different but complementary approaches to pest control. But active ingredients are only half of the story. We can also rely on the diverse nature of FCAD’s chemical activities to develop innovative formulations and complementary products that enhance the effectiveness, safety and convenience of our crop protection products.
Our scientists use the latest technologies and analytical techniques such as computer-based molecular modelling, genetic profiling and mass spectrometry. And if our scientists can’t find what they need, they design and build it themselves.
Indeed, our global teams of scientists – molecular biologists, agronomists, engineers and chemists – share their knowledge and expertise with each other every day. As a result, we’ve been able to automate many routine research activities. This means our scientists have time to do what they’re best at: designing and developing products, programs and, of course, active ingredients.
The research and development process does not stop when the product reaches our customers. The knowledgeable and well-practiced hands of farmers give our products the ultimate test. That’s why we are constantly talking to farmers to hear about their opinions and experiences with our products. These messages from the farmers are then feedback to our scientists, so that we can both improve existing products and develop new ones, so that innovative, effective solutions remain the core of our business for a long time to come.

Balance: A Clearer View of Agricultural Sustainability

Balance is a method to measure and assess sustainability in agriculture. It follows a comprehensive approach: Balance evaluates the sustainability performance of agricultural products or processes across all three pillars: economy, environment and society.
Based on our long experience with analysis, we at FCAD have developed balance way to improve the fact based understanding of the situation on the ground, drive innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers and detect progress in sustainable agriculture.
With balance way, FCAD wants to contribute to essential questions such as:
What are key sustainability drivers for any given agricultural production system?
Which conditions negatively impacting sustainability in agriculture?
How to make production systems more sustainable?

    Innovation Optimizes Agricultural Production

    Great product solutions.
That’s what our customers say about our comprehensive range of high-performance solutions for crop and non-crop applications. Our goal is to meet the needs of our customers across many diverse countries and regions.

Hence, in a drop of FCAD flavor there is:
INNOVATIVE INSPIRATION: a 360° observation to find the right inputs that will influence the development and success of tomorrow’s winning products.
FLAVOR CREATIVITY: our passion for taste means seeking and developing market leading technologies and ingredients that allow us to create the best flavor solutions on the market.
PRODUCT TAILORING: we work hand in hand with our clients to tailor our flavor solutions to our clients’ products and brands, and thus develop their full appeal.
FULL SERVICE: whether it’s innovation, creativity, fine-tuning or simply problem solving, we service our clients in a form of collaboration. Simply because working together makes us both stronger.

    Innovation Inspiration

We find effective inspiration from market dynamics, consumer taste, emotions and clients’ needs by:
LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE: Accurate anticipation is key in today’s fast moving markets. Our Creative Marketing teams are dedicated to observing the emotional evolution of society, allowing us to capture what’s inside tomorrow’s consumption patterns. This provides us with more creative depth, additional innovation dimensions and gives significant value to our flavor submissions and our clients’ products.
INTEGRATING SENSES AND EMOTIONS: Taste is strongly linked to the four other senses, so to understand the big picture we can’t just focus on taste and smell. Observing and understanding the many ways senses and emotions influence the complete consumption process allows us to choose the best flavor solutions in terms of taste, sensations and texture.
OBSERVING CONSUMER LIFESTYLES AND DRIVERS: Observing consumers is fascinating! Our approach is the result of a complementary observation of consumer lifestyles and drivers. Confronting both the essence of demographics and what fuels consumption growth allows us to have a more complete picture to respond precisely to complex consumer needs.
UNDERSTANDING FLAVOR AND MARKET TRENDS: The quest to understand consumer taste is intimately linked with the evolution of macro-trends and consumer trends and drivers. Our teams have developed an observation system capable of defining up-coming, declining and favorite flavors for selected markets, categories and regions.

    Flavor Creativity

To do so, our people seek, develop and create the elements that allow us to be both present today, and ahead of our time.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT: Our teams benefit from the annual reinvestment into the research and development of new molecules and technologies. This demonstrates not only our global commitment to R&D and our leadership in science for flavors, but also our strong research philosophy and passion for scientific discoveries and exploration.
GLOBAL PRODUCT DESIGN: Our team is the link between R&D and the market. It is their role to develop value-adding flavor technology solutions based on the latest scientific research.
NATURAL FLAVORS AND INGREDIENTS: Starting from the best sources to create winning natural flavors, FCAD is committed to provide natural extracts, flavor ingredients and complete flavors to respond to the increased demand for natural and authentic products.
CREATING FLAVORS: Creative, Talented Curious and Expert are the best words to describe our flavorists. Their valuable contribution is to develop creative flavor tonalities and solutions that reflect consumer taste and product constraints, thus combining passion, art and practical technical knowledge

    Product Tailoring

Once the staging is complete, we can concentrate on adapting the flavor solution to the product:
FOOD TECHNOLOGY CREATIVITY: Our food technologists surely know the recipe. They work on a daily basis with all the different ingredients that will enter the final product. Their role is to ensure that products cope with the multiple flavor, production, market and consumer constraints. Our chefs, pastry chefs, or even chewing gum or beverage experts all know how to use flavors and flavor technologies efficiently to enhance our clients’ favorite products. At FCAD, we take pride in allowing them to develop their creativity, trying new technologies, flavor mixes, sensations, colors and textures, simply because innovation is at every step of the process.
UNDERSTANDING TASTE: Precise consumer taste understanding is a perpetual quest. We take a lot of pleasure taking up this challenge. Like consumers, taste evolves, but so do technologies to better perceive them. Our Sensory teams around the world have developed a strong expertise in making it easier to understand consumer taste preferences as well as sensory characteristics and flavor behavior in a product. It is a dynamic and fascinating science that fully contributes to the success of our clients’ products in terms of flavor, texture and sensation.

    Full Service

Putting our strengths together is the best way to respond rapidly and efficiently to the evolution of consumer needs and markets.
    COMPLYING WITH LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

We provide our clients with accurate information appropriate for their safe and legal use, we participate regularly in the elaboration of the auto regulatory Codes of Practice of the different food and flavor associations and follow the recommendations of these organizations.
    PROBLEM SOLVING AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Our role is to provide a solution to our clients. This means solving problems and giving the best recommendations, throughout the whole development process and even after the flavor has been delivered, whether its flavor related or not. We feel responsible for the quality of our flavor solutions and the result they have in our clients’ products.
